Deliverable D3.2 about tools for continuous semantic integration released
We are excited to announce the release of Deliverable D3.2, which details the final design and initial implementation of tools for Continuous Semantic Integration (CSI) within the SmartEdge project. This deliverable builds upon the design activities reported in D3.1 and incorporates the final requirements defined in D2.2, offering a comprehensive framework to enable CSI.
Overview of Deliverable D3.2
Deliverable D3.2 identifies a set of artefacts crucial for realizing the CSI concept. Task 3.1 focuses on the development of interoperable semantic models that describe the capabilities of nodes within the SmartEdge ecosystem. A shared repository has also been implemented, facilitating the storage, retrieval, and querying of these descriptions. To support collaboration among heterogeneous nodes in a swarm, a solution for standardized communication interfaces is proposed.
While interoperable interfaces are essential, the diversity of information models and data formats among nodes necessitates further harmonization. This is addressed in Task 3.2, which introduces a DataOps toolbox designed to define mediated data exchanges for semantic interoperability. The toolbox ensures flexible execution of data exchanges, accommodating various deployment requirements and the interaction between Cloud and Edge nodes. Performance and scalability considerations for these mediated exchanges are also highlighted.
Task 3.3 builds on these solutions by providing a dedicated user interface for the low-code definition of swarm applications tailored for edge intelligence. This task also encompasses artefacts that identify and orchestrate relevant nodes, enabling the composition of swarms capable of executing the defined applications.
The release of Deliverable D3.2 represents a milestone in the SmartEdge project and lays the foundation for effective continuous semantic integration. By focusing on interoperability, data exchange and user-friendly application development, the overall functionality and performance of the SmartEdge ecosystem is improved.
