This page highlights projects that complement and extend the SmartEdge vision. They share common goals in decentralized edge intelligence, semantic interoperability, and secure, low-latency systems. Presenting them here promotes collaboration and helps strengthen a coherent European ecosystem around edge and swarm intelligence.

- Chimera
  Chimera is a framework implemented on top of Apache Camel offering components to define schema and data transformation pipelines based on Semantic Web solutions.
  The chimera-tutorial repository offers a complete example to easily understand how to develop semantic data transformation pipelines using the Chimera framework.
- Mapping-template
  A template-based component exploiting Apache Velocity to define declarative mappings for schema and data transformations.
- Distributed In-Network Computing (DINC)
  DINC is a framework to provide automating distributed in-network computing services. This repository is the artifact for the paper “DINC: Toward Distributed In-Network Computing” in ACM CoNEXT ’23.
- Chunks & Rules
  A JavaScript library by the W3C Cognitive AI Community Group.
  The Chunk & Rules specification defines a cognitive graph database model featuring chunks as collections of properties, and rules that operate on them in conjunction with highly scalable graph algorithms, together with a simple notation for serializing graphs as a convenient abstraction above RDF.
- KROWN 👑: A Benchmark for RDF Graph Materialization
  KROWN is a benchmark for materialization systems to construct Knowledge Graphs from (semi-)heterogeneous data sources using declarative mappings such as RML (RDF Mapping Language).
- Knowledge Graph Construction W3C Community Group
  The goal of the Knowledge Graph (KG) Community Group (CG) is to help participants improve methods for Knowledge Graph construction in terms of construction methods, requirements and issues, use cases, guidelines, best practices, and test cases.
- Thing Description (TD)
  A Thing Description describes the metadata and interfaces of Things, where a Thing is an abstraction of a physical or virtual entity that provides interactions to and participates in the Web of Things. Check the latest editors’ draft by the W3C Web of Things (WoT) Working Group.
- In-Network-Machine-Learning
  - P4Pir
    P4Pir is an in-network traffic analysis framework in IoT gateway, leveraging in-network ML inference for accurate detection and fast mitigation of emerging attack
  - Planter
    Planter is a modular framework for realizing one-click in-network machine learning algorithms.
