ESWC 2024

The European Semantic Web Conference (ESWC) is a major venue for discussing the latest scientific results and technology innovations around semantic technologies.
The 2024 edition takes place in Hersonissos, Crete and its theme is “Fabrics of Knowledge: Knowledge Graphs and Generative AI”.

The consortium partners TUB and Bosch have a paper accepted: “VisionKG: Unleashing the Power of Visual Datasets via Knowledge Graph“.

Abstract: The availability of vast and diverse visual data is crucial for advancing computer vision (CV) algorithms and architectures. However, existing visual datasets are often tailored to specific tasks and lack a unified management approach, leading to inefficiencies and biases in AI systems. To tackle these issues, we propose Vision Knowledge Graph (VisionKG), a novel resource that organizes and links visual datasets using Semantic Web technologies. Unlike traditional methods, VisionKG offers a knowledge-based approach, enriching semantics at both image and instance levels. With 519 million RDF triples describing 40 million entities, VisionKG provides simple access and querying of visual datasets through SPARQL and APIs. Integrated with 30 datasets and four CV tasks, it demonstrates utility across various CV scenarios. Access VisionKG at https://vision.semkg.org.
